I don't care what anyone says, I found the new Star Trek movie delightful. I had a couple of minor quibbles, but my main immediate reaction was wanting to see it again, which I hardly ever want to do even with movies I like. Just to pull a mega-geek maneuver, there is a hint of an interest between Spock an Uhura in the original ST episode (the 2nd episode of the first season) "Charlie X," where Uhura sings a randy Spock song while Spock plays the Vulcan lute. The lyrics go like this

Dear gods, you are right, because I remembered how weird that was for her to do that. Maybe all those years they just kept it on the down low! Would make an interesting fan-fic, alongside all those slash fics about Kirk and Spock getting it on, too. Spock does remind me of some of those bi-boys I've dated, lol.
My favorite episode is probably This Side of Paradise, and I thought Spock was so sexy in it. Actually, I thought Spock was sexy in general. I love the new Spock too. I really enjoyed the new Star Trek. It was very J.J. Abrams though.
Yeah, we had a good time watching it, too. But those Romulans...wtf? Tattoos on the faces...no funky ears? Come on! Oh well. It'll be cool to see a new generation get into Star Trek.
Yeah, they did look different. My guess is that they made them look a little different so that we don't confuse them with Vulcans. Brian says they did have pointed ears, I can't really remember myself. Also, those weren't usual Romulans, they were rogue Romulans, so maybe regular Romulans look more familiar. /
