What's the reason for Soma being so open about spending time in Castlevania? The only people in his canon who have powers like him are other hunters and the Dark Lord candidates, so I've always wondered why he was so quick to adapt.
I've always seen Soma as a pretty practical kid. After seeing all the monsters and other strange things in camp, he didn't really see the need to hide it. I think the fact that some people (Ami and Buffy offhand) have mentioned having similar experiences have reinforced that. They've been through something like he has, and he's not feeling like he's alone in that regard anymore. If people had only given him weird looks and reacted negatively when he first started mentioning this stuff, he probably would have clammed up about it. But they didn't so, neither did he.
Addenum: Shortly after coming to camp, Momoko had a post in which she ended up telling Soma that many/most of the people at camp had special powers. Again, why hide something when there are other people at camp who can do something similar. Jak is still the only person at camp who knows where Soma's powers come from, though he did kinda tell Lady he'd explain the turning into a bat thing after the fight with Lupin was over. If she ever asks, he'll probably tell her. He'd still prefer not to tell anyone about the whole absorbing souls thing if he doesn't have to.
