barefoot boys with books, hello.

So as one of the newest employees at the bookshop, I get the privilege of having four of my favorite books put up on the staff recommendation shelf, along with a brief review of each book and a cute little polaroid of myself. Ooh, I'm already intrigued by your tiny synopsis for The Book Thief. I might ask to borrow that.

I read Willful Creatures in one evening btw. Several of the stories have stuck with me all week. Such a powerful little book, thank you again for it!

Also, I own White Oleander and I'm unashamed of it because it's a freaking great book. :P

Great list!

I'd say...

The Stand (now for many nostalgic reasons, but man, at the time!!) -- Stephen King
Imajica -- Clive Barker
Raptor -- Gary Jennings (Jennings wrote amazing historical fiction with loads of smut)
Tully -- Paullina Simons (Long, literary, sad and desperate and aching)

Four off the top of my head, but I could go on.

Stranger in a Strange Land
Kushiel's Dart
Lost Boys
A Boy's Life
Clan of the Cave Bear...

You should totally use what you just wrote about Time Traveler's Wife for the description. :D :D :D

... I'll get back to you about the four. KInda almost impossible, I can see where your frustration comes from.

You could totally do many of those and still look hip. I mean, Gatsby? Always the epitome of style. He's definitely on my list, which I try not to repeat too many of the above:
Kissing the Witch
The Virgin Suicides
Gatsby
The Iliad and the Odyssey
Pride and Prejudice
Persuasion
Jane Eyre
Turn of the Screw
Book Thief
Possession
The Thirteenth Tale
A Fine and Private Place
and of course, Bleak House and Beekeeper's Apprentice, plus Holmes in general.
And that's just what comes to mind while sitting here. God forbid I look at my books and remember I've left some precious baby out.
squeee!!!
