So someone left a hamster at the bookshop today. Like left it there, in a little cage in a paper bag by the register. As of an hour and a half after we found it, no one had run back in to claim it. One of my coworkers had to go out and buy it food and bedding and a water bottle, and he was given a new home and a new name: Muffintop

Definitely. The girl that took him home was besotted. I wanted to take him home myself, but it's probably just as well - we have a cat here, and I don't even want to think about how that could have ended.

So weird, but cool that you have a pet hamster at your work. I wonder if it'll get enough attention there thought, maybe someone from work should adopt him, so he has a home.

Oh, one of my coworkers is taking him home. I wanted to snag him for myself, but she got dibs, and it's probably just as well. He's going to a good home. :) We talked about keeping him in the staff room, but agreed that a group of people who can't seem to remember to wash our their coffee mugs for weeks on end probably wouldn't do well trying to feed an animal on a regular basis.

Muffintop=awesomest name for a hamster ever.
I have a new pet: there's this spider who builds complicated webs right in my walking path to leave my house. I killed his home twice, then he built it less in my way. I named him Ronaldus.
