My boys from Alabama came to visit AGAIN. PM was confused about why they visit NYC so much. Fact of the matter is they both have great jobs and rent is super cheap in AL--maybe a third of what it costs to live in a 1-bdrm in Brooklyn--so they use their money to see cool live shows up here. (It's not like many acts book B'ham on purpose

He cat, Sammy, recently died and she sang this song about him going to heaven-- in the voice of Sammy, which was a cross-between Tom Waits and Taj Mahal. Then she switched into how various members of the Three Penny Opera (which she's playing on Broadway, apparently) would sing it. I wanted to laugh, cry, and hug her and it was only the first song of the night.
