RIP: elessar merlyn tetramariner

I've just learned of the death, this past Friday, of one of the most colourful characters in SF&F Fandom.  He'd lived in England the past 10 years, and actually married and settled down!  He never really expected to live past 30, purely as an attitude thing ( Read more... )

I have, over the years, every now and then wondered where elessar had gotten off to. I remember meeting him back in the days when I was coming up to Midwestern cons before parenthood set in. ISTR it was one of his photos used on the "cover" of the classic 'Minus Ten and Counting' cassette.

I don't think he and I ever met, but in the '70s he was one of those people who were important to people who were important to me.

Sorry you've lost such an inspiring person in your life. As you say, perhaps it was time for his next journey - more things to learn and spirits to help.

Thanks for the post. While this was not news to me (I'd heard about it at the time) I'm this far behind in my reading.

I still think of him often.
