So was Cathy's. Her mom even took her to a concert.
We still have most of their vinyl, and a coupla CDs. Played 'em couplish weeks ago.

The one and only time I had a dance for a birthday party, we played my one Monkees album. Musta been my ninth birthday, I'm thinking ....

I liked The Monkees, too! I came to them a bit late, though, caught them for the first time in syndication when I was 11 or 12 in the early 70's. I still like listening to their songs- I tend to like the Michael Nesmith songs best.

September 1966 the show premiered. So I was eight. And I never really distinguished between whose songs were whose -- although, looking back, I think I was maybe a little fonder of Jones' stuff.
