Day 08 - A photo which makes you sad. The piccy is behind the cut - it isn't graphic but it is upsetting. This was a hard choice, there's lots of things that make me sad about what goes on in the world today. I try not to think about it all too much because of my own sense of helplessness. Anywho, I saw this picture for the first time a few weeks ( Read more... )

Yeah, it really really is.

Really made me appreciate what I've got and to try and be a better person.

It's such a shocking photo, I think it was taken a few years ago so I really hope it spurred people into helping famine victims.

I can see why the photographer won the award...but I can't understand why he didn't start raising money for the the areas affected by such famine (or something like that) in "penance" for not helping that little girl instead of killing himself...who did that help?

That picture will stay with me for a very long time...and thank you for sharing...in this time of "what do I want for Christmas" I think we should all be giving thanks (and not just on Thanksgiving, here in America) for what we DO have.

Thanks, I really did feel uneasy about posting something so upsetting but it made me think about how lucky I am and even though we're not a rich family, how wealthy we are in other ways.

Going to make it a New Year's resolution to try and do more for different charities next year.
