There's so much to love here but I have to say I zeroed right in on the fact that Sam saves the day. My hero!

And then there's the limp factor. Just awesome.

I can't believe you've only been posting for a year now and imo, every story tops the last one.

You rock!

Yeah it is so nice to write Sam as a hero rather than just a helpless victim - I'm always very happy when one of my stories gets your seal of approval, I hope you know by now how much you and Claudia mean to me...

But once I killed the shape-shifter I found out about a vampire nest nearby and I…"

Dean listens carefully while his dad talks and notes the hesitation, the way Dad hasn’t entered the room and how his jaded red-rimmed brown eyes are struggling to hold Dean's gaze for longer than a few seconds. And Dean wonders how much of his story is true

Okay, from this I was sure John had gotten bitten, had turned, and was avoiding his friends and family because he was a danger to them. The ending was sort of surprising because I was waiting for the "reveal."

But me and my assumptions aside, this was a nice casefile, and good character work for pre-show boys and Bobby. Much enjoyed.

: D That's actually a very cool plotline...I just liked the idea that John wasn't hurt or in trouble but rather taking some much needed R&R - especially because it was November and around the time of the anniversary of Mary's death. I don't think he's a particularly bad father (considering what he's been through) just one who struggles to balance his grief and need for revenge with his love for his children.

Thanks so so much for reading and commenting, it's always appreciated. x
