An All Over The Place Update

You know you've grown up when, in the third week of January, it finally snows, and your response is not "YAY SNOW!!" but rather, "er, dammit." You can blame it on a good many different things: for me, it makes my hand, and nearly all my joints ache, it flares my back up, it house-bounds my dog, and I don't want the outside cats to have to deal with ( Read more... )

cats, money angst, domestic chores

I don't know that credit affects financial aid much at all. It may now, it never used to, though.

And yay on book-fixing! Yes, it would be hugely cool if someone would buy it. They really ought to, because in my (entirely unbiased, of course) opinion, it rocks.

You're the second person to think so, on the former topic. Well, good. Because, really, it's going to need to be this way. Whew.

Yeah, I need to get behind that book again. I just *sob* don't want to have to *read* it again! Ever.

You're dangerously close to inspiring me to try a rewrite of That Book We Found Downstairs. Because really, parts of it are not all that bad. It has potential, if tweaked in certain directions.

As long as you're going for need based aid, it won't affect it.

And, as long as you're making *any* payment at all, I don't believe they can send you to collections or actually affect your credit that badly. If you can, just pay the interest so it doesn't keep accruing.

Alternately, have you and Laure thought about filing for bankruptcy? You may want to look into it. And don't think of it as failing as a grownup - Himself's sister did it, and for whatever it's worth, my mum has too. It'll wipe out your bad credit and get rid of the monthly payments you can't afford so you can start putting $$ toward fixing up the house.
