She's still around, but things aren't great for cats on the street. :( I saw her two days ago, and she was looking.... off? Dirty, a bit greasy-ish. It would be a kindness for someone to take her off the street even if it's just to give her a fast and painless end, but it's possible she could still be saved.
Not the A or the Humane Society, though, they are usually constrained by local law to put down unadoptable strays even if they could have been socialized.
Sad. This is how I got into cat rescue, frankly. It's extremely demanding in time, money, and emotions--don't get into it!!!--but there are folks in the vast majority of urban places, and some rural, who do it.
