A-ranting we will go...

I was going to write a nice, long rant about fanfic and zines, and other things that are currently exploding over at fanficrants. At some point, I still might, but for now I'll just show you the post I made instead:

But unless you have the resources to stand up in court and get that changed, don't go selling fanfiction, even if it's at cost of printing, or ( Read more... )

...word.

I tried writing something about this, but I couldn't express it properly. It was basically about how the original poster seems to believe that zines are more visible/offensive to TPTB than online fanfic because of the fact that they do cost money and are printed out, rather than being solely data on the web; but I'd counter that by saying that online fanfic is far more visible simply because of how much of it there is.

So yeah. ^^

Absolutely. The assumptions and inaccurate information coming from the OP and her friends just boggled my mind. Does anyone actually think that zines are more high-profile than something on the net that's easily accessible?

When it comes to subjects I feel this strongly about, the words are just... there. I don't know where they come from, and I suppose it doesn't matter, really.

Yep. I mean, I can kind of understand the instinct that produces the 'if it isn't physical, then it isn't real' attitude, but that doesn't make it *true.*

When it comes to subjects I feel intensely about, the words tend to get tangled up in my head. I can only talk about it if I'm left alone to think about it for a while. This is why I never went into debate. :)
