I took a Stargate quiz over on greensilver’s lj, which you should also take, because it’s fun. Anyway, one of the questions got me thinking: what if Michael Shanks and Ben Browder (pre-SG1) switched roles? Could they handle it
( Read more... )
But you know what heresy popped into my brain while I was reading it?
I could picture Shanks as MacGyver. He could SO handle that role. He does genius so well.
I can also picture Daniel getting it on quite well with Angus. That's a fic I keep intending to write, and just don't have a plot for it. *sigh* Oh, well. One day I'm sure the bunnies will bite...
I voted to lose MacGyver rather than Jack, because I don't particularly like Mac. (Well, I don't dislike the character, but the show bores me.) So, I don't really want to see Shanks try to play him. I'm sure you're right, though, because I firmly believe Shanks has it in him to play any character he chooses.
I am not really terribly familiar with BB's work, but, even though I am biased, I think MS would have no problem with any of the parts in Stargate. Don't forget what a splendid job he did in Holiday too! :)
The thing about Holiday is, I always think Ma'chello sounds like Shanks with a cold. *g* I don't think he does "old" people very well. However, Ma'chello in Daniel's body was much better, I totally buy that he's a different person.
Farscape eventually lost me because it became too in-jokey, but Browder was born to play Crichton. He's the one thing I always loved about that show.
And, just wanted to add that I love your icon! "Poetry in Motion" describes that little hip wiggle perfectly!
