Depression.

Jun 04, 2008 15:17

Depression hit last night, the first I've had since hospital (February), and I hardly slept a wink. When I did, I dreamt stupid stuff about John F. Kennedy and cutting triangular swatches of fabric off all his boxer shorts. I must've woken every half hour. I couldn't read to distract myself as one book is about the mechanics of the human brain (too ( Read more... )

Winter is coming on there, correct? Does weather or season have anything to do with bringing it on or make it any better or worse? I only ask because we're all so used to Seasonal states here in Canada and I was just curious. And, of course, I hope you can find the strength to get trough it all okay.

Yeah, it's just winter now. Five days in. I usually get S.A.D. in summer, strangely enough, but this wind and rain is really full-on, that's for sure. It's definitely not helping my mood.

Oh, I'm so so sorry to read this, P. Bloody fucking depression. I'm so glad you have Todd and les animaux. Seriously.

I've not been on top of LJ at all in recent times, and I still seem to be hopeless with e-mails, but please seek me out on MSN or Scrabulous or something if you fancy a chat about anything or nothing. If you can't see me online at any given time, chuck me an e-mail suggesting a chat and chances are I'll find it within time to find you, and prattle away nonsensically till the cows come home. :-)

In the meantime, here's a photograph of Mae West you might like; it transfixed me when I found it online a couple of days ago. It was labelled as being from a 1934 picture called Belle Of The Nineties and I'm now intrigued as to what plot line might have required her to appear in this get up! Clearly I need to watch me some Mae West films.

Bloody fucking depression is right. It's a killer. I have such little staying power online at the moment but I will try to look for you when my concentration is a bit better. Thanks.

I agree - Mae's arms look very short. I think her standing on a stool isn't helping matters either.

This just hit me like a tonne of bricks. There I was wondering how you were and the next day - WHAM. :(

I certainly know what you mean about lacking online staying power! But do remember that it's an option, if you feel you could do with some distraction, or just need to do something to pass the time. Time can certainly drag during stretches of depression, even when you are able to keep yourself occupied. Anyway, you know all that; hopefully you know too that folks like me are always glad to talk, or do anything that might be of some slight solace while their favourite Pippa's going through it ( ... )

A stunner of a man. Would that we all had Gene's genes. Thanks again for the long chat earlier today. It buoyed my spirits a lot.

Hey Sugar...
you're in my thoughts here and there you know. Wondering from time to time how you is and what you be up to.

You should watch all the episodes of Pee Wee's Playhouse. =)

Take care of you.

Thanks, T, you sweet thing. That was very nice of you to say. I'll put Pee Wee's Playhouse on my list of DVDs to get sometime. I wouldn't be up to it now, sad to say. I can barely think straight, let alone crooked.
