OK, time to post. Feels like an age since I've really said anything much.
I've deleted ten people whose LJs seem abandoned and/or who never but never comment on my LJ. There are a few others I nearly deleted because they very rarely comment either. And it's not that people have to *look at me! look at me!* at all. It's just that it gives me the ( Read more... )

Woo, I survived the cut! I kind of suck at commenting so I was a little nervous. =)

And I comment farrr too much - and angrily - on yours. We both need to find a happy medium.
PS: Lawyer lawyer lawyer! Grrrr.

Hmm. You say, 'almost certainly.' ;-)

I like September (though from memory it was pretty slow) and Romulus (though liked the book much better).

Oooh, guilty conscience!? Hmmm? ;) And no, I didn't mean vous. I know you don't comment very much anymore (Did I upset you a lot that time I came over all opinionated and serious on your LJ and it provoked similar from others? I hope not, but I have wondered...), but the people I meant never do. One of them never has. And she posts a lot. And it's always about her, her, her, her, endlessly her. Boring! And I'm not worried about writing this either because I know she ain't readin' it...

I admit that one reason I want to see September is that it's set in WA, the Clayton's foreign country (the foreign country you have at home when you're not having a foreign country at home). You mysterious westerners you. Also it's set in '68, the year of my birth. Just.

I was pretty upset, but not specifically at you. I was pretty sensitive at the time, needing the whole world to be a shiny happy place and it was letting me down. I'm not commenting much anywhere, actually rapidly losing my lj mojo I think. Things run their course, you know? And I think it's just time for something new for me.

I'm really sorry it upset you. I've wanted to apologise for a long time. I was pretty upset too but had no wherewithall to do very much about it at the time for some reason I still don't understand.

I hear you. Things can run their course for sure. I wish there was some happy medium between LJ and Wordpress/Typepad/Blogspot. I'd miss you if you left LJ, but I'd understand as well.

Loved Romulus, too. I like the way you mentioned the colourse, because yes, it was beautiful and so australian. Did you watch the interviews as well? Interesting.

I forgot you were reading the book when I was sprouting about JBT to you! You really might not want to listen to the podcasts, then.

colourse
Clearly you've been writing 'goatse' too often, haha.

No, I wish I had watched the i/v's now. Husbo hates DVD extras and I love them, but this one was a separate disc (can you imagine the effort?), and we decided to return them before I watched it.

Oh, good. That makes me feel less guilty for not tapping into those podcasts yet! I will eventually though. I've got the URL, thanks to lovely you.

Well, I'm actually very glad you brought that up, because there is a little story behind colourse. :-P

Only that, I noticed the typo after I'd posted and scrunched up my nose at it.
But then decided that I'd rather leave it, preferring it over the Edited at... note at the bottom, which I occasionally view as suspicious. :-D

I then went on to ponder typos as performance art.

Funny, 'cause I watched an O'Reilly clip this week (Bill Maher bashing) and I was wondering if there was a Canadian equivalent. And they run what he says in text on the left. Like captioning. It seems so weird and alien but I don't really watch television so I don't know fuck all.

We don't have an equivalent either. God help anyone who does. Mike Munro is just this TV anchor/'journalist' who is so bad at what he does that he was once considered to basically still be at cadet journalist level. He's shockingly inept and judgemental and oafish.

I didn't know about that text-on-left thing. Like pointform of his main ideas? Ah, so that's where "The Wørd" comes from on The Colbert Report (a right-screen text box where the 'word' [usually two words] of the day appears). That's why the audience whoops and hollers when it comes on. Haha, very cute!

(b) Why could you hardly blame me, out of interest? Are you just being low-self-esteem-y? Stop that!
