Cause Key limes are a variety that come from the Florida Keys. They are sweeter than regular limes.

They are soooo delicious. Apparently, they are good squirted over freshly broiled split lobster tail, as well.

I have never eaten lobster. I hear they taste like a giant shrimp.

I have never eaten lobster. At least not knowingly... It is a line in my personal constitution that I must never eat anything that lived in the ocean. Except clam chowder and fried shrimp, and only then because you can't really taste the seafood'ness.

And to (maybe) answer your question: key lime pie is very popular in the south, where i think it originated, so perhaps it has something to do with the Florida Keys? Maybe that's where the limes come from. Now I want to know too:)

Well, according to my friend cherryheavy, they are indeed from the Florida Keys and apparently very, very sweet ;)
