My boy that has struggled with his grades forever is making the best grades of his school career. He has an A in math. He has failed that class and had to make it up in summer school the last two years. He is making an A in English which he has barely squeeked by in for the last two years. Yay for good grades! Aislin's begun spelling simple words like cat, car, and cup. I think she's going to pick up reading fast like I did.

You know, I think it's very common for boys to be late developers academically speaking (and in other ways, too) compared with girls the same age. Yet when it matters to them, they buckle down and produce the goods, suddenly finding focus. My younger son was exactly the same and he's now doing very well at uni, planning post-grad, etc. You must feel very pleased & proud. :)
