Hope you're having a fun time!
I totally understand what you mean by the keyboard switching. The first e-mail I wrote to mom from Japan was 90% gibberish because the computer at home didn't have japanese installed and couldn't read it, even though I thought I was writing english words ^.^o

There are a surprisingly large number of French tourists in Japan! I also ran into a couple from Ottawa-Hull and got to try out my french a bit... :D (Also, thanks for recommending Nara, it was awesome!)
