A Rec Worthy of Re-Watching

I've just been re-watching a few vids, including the stunning Cat's in the Cradle by daasgrrl. It's such a remarkably constructed vid. Fortysomething with both Laurie and Cumberbatch is an obvious vehicle for flashbacks, yes, but Paul Slippery (Hugh Laurie's character) is just nothing like the jaded, bitter House and Hugh Laurie has both the physical ( Read more... )

I can't remember if I read it somewhere or if it came out of my head, but I believe little things like Sherlock and the bouncing ball were nods back to House, since House itself is a huge nod to Sherlock Holmes. Because Moffat is like that.

Yay! I love relationships between varied characters and stories and universes over time (the stories etymology?) so knowing that was deliberate makes me all warm and fuzzy. :P

Quite welcome! D isn't really a literate sort of fellow, but I didn't realize that seeing connections (which seem obvious to me) and parallels between two superficially unrelated stories was actually something of a learned skill/experience until that conversation.
