Just read surprise!angst which was thankfully short but owwwww! And it was as disturbing as it was angsty, which kind of doubles the ouchy effect. *winces

This all looks yummy. Darn it, I'll have to wait to get to work to watch the Farscape vid (crappy dial up). I think I'm one the few people in Canada who has all the Farscape episodes on disc, so I love a good John as a biblical metaphor thingy.
Dial-up is both a blessing and a curse (far better than nothing, after all!), sigh.
Surprise!angst is when I read a fic and don't expect it to rip my heart out and shred it into wee itty bitty little pieces! It could be because: the author didn't warn for it (maybe they don't think it matters -- EVIL BASTARDS -- or it just didn't occur to them), warned in a cut tag (which became useless when my link was directly to the post for one reason or another), or it's comment fic or the like without a proper header) or the reccer didn't warn for it (then linked to the cut tag and I didn't scroll up to check properly) or I just didn't take the warning seriously enough for one reason or another.
This is usually quite traumatic to my delicate nature so I then have to read some wildly chipper to restore balance to the universe. *g*
