This just made me wonder... is it supposed to include games that these adults buy for their children? If yes, I'm surprised it's not way more than 64 %. And if not, I'd like to know how they came up with that particular number & how do they actually know who's going to play with it, father or son, regardless of who pays for it?! :)

The statistic certainly makes sense for that reason. Another reason for it is that a lot of adults (like me) grew up playing video games. As the gaming systems "grew up," our love for gaming grew right along with them. That's why there are so many video games out there rated M. More adults are playing than ever before, and they don't want to play kiddie games.

Yeah, our generation is the first that "grew" into it, grew up with game systems etc. The gaming industry lost me in my early 20's but I know so many people who play and keep upgrading on the systems too. Those who are a decade younger would be an even bigger market and even more likely to stick with it later on. I think in Europe the demographics are slightly different but don't quote me on that.

And wheeee! CHUCKS in your icon! I loved them. I think I had them in 6 colors. :)

Yes, that's the thing with stats. I don't know how exactly they came up with this particular number but I'm assuming it's about right. Looking around, adults *do* play video games alright, even with no kiddies in sight... ;o) Rated M for "mature" is a huge market here.
