Piper, My Little Sweet Potato: 1997-2011

Apr 30, 2011 11:56

We adopted Piper from Washington Animal Rescue League back in November of 2002. We went in looking for a compromise between a pug (what I was aiming for) and a lab (what M was aiming for). Then we met the beagles. We decided on a beagle. Due to a mix-up w/ paperwork, we were supposed to adopt Claire, but we got Amy instead. Maybe. It's ( Read more... )

Piper wielded a mighty pen in her paws, this is true. Thanks for your hugs and well wishes and everything, C!! One doggy mommy to another.

Aw, honey. My thoughts and prayers are with you right now. I know it's hard.
We lost our little Sadie three years ago. It's very hard.. *hugs*

She was a beautiful little girl. Just too cute! Love the beached whale picture. She looked very comfortable. And the one on what looks like your porch? Cute!

Awww, I'm sorry about Sadie!

Piper loved to veg out, it's true. :) And the porch is at M's parents' cabin in the mountains. She liked going there -- we'd cook outdoors and she'd always get a biscuit dripping w/ melted butter, sugar and cinnamon. Good times.

Thanks! Milo's idea of a good walk is a wooded area w/ no hills and tons of deer on a sunny day, 68 degrees. Piper's idea of a good walk was outside. :)

:( I'm so behind on LJ, I had no idea. I'm so very sad to hear about Piper. She was an adorable beauty -- I fell in love with her just from hearing you talk about her, and, well . . . this hurts.

Fourteen years is a long, happy time in dog years. Yet it's not nearly long enough. When Buffy, the dog I'd had since childhood, passed away at seventeen, we'd all seen it coming, and even then, I still wasn't ready for it. So believe me, I know how you feel.

Thanks for sharing so many happy photos and thoughts of her.

I'm so sorry, Blue.

*hugs you lots*

Awww, yeah, I talked to my mom today, and she said she'd been dreading this day for me as my dogs are getting older. And, yes, they don't live forever. But I still wasn't expecting it! She was so resilient, always.

She was a happy girl til the end!

HUGS! I know how hard it is to stop looking for small furry ones. I keep looking down for Daniel and then remembering.
