Peeps, hey! M's family is visiting this fine day and they've already planned out their Alaskan cruise and I made them breakfast and lunch. We opened the wine at 11:00. As the icon says, it's 5 o'clock somewhere! Speaking of icons, I am looking for an icon of Santana and Brittany from the last episode of glee. I want a nice kissing icon of them ( Read more... )

Dude, Friday was my parents 38th wedding anniversary!

As my mother said when she packed Dad's lunch and threw a whole bag of it in there, "38 is the poppycock year."

I guess that beats diamonds or paper or something.

I'm so sorry about your uncle (but I'm glad he isn't suffering anymore). *hugs*

Thanks, sweetheart! He was really tired of the indignities of his illness.

Hugs Blue, you are so awesome and I imagine your uncle adored you for that.

Your story about your parents just makes me smile so much. :) :)

Unfortunately, I was never especially close to my uncle b/c we always lived hundreds or thousands of miles away. BUT, M and I stayed w/ him and my aunt for a night on our road trip out west 8.5 years ago and I have some really good memories of him from that trip.

My brother is named after the couple (the husband was a teacher at the school and the wife worked in the canteen on base) who introduced them for their blind date.

I don't know ANY of my uncles. I met my mom's brother way back in 1988, and I have no idea if he is even alive or not.

Awww for your brother, LOL. :) Sweet. :) :)

I alwyas think fondly of your dad because of the Vicar of Dibley. If he gets a kick out of that show he has to be an okay guy. Of course YOU are his kid, so.....

The Vicar is indeed his favorite show, probably of all time. I can't think of any other show that he remembers part of the dialogue and will watch several times.

Aww, Blue, I'm so sorry about your uncle. *big hugs*

my mother was a junior high English teacher and my father was a lonely soldier in the Coast Guard. Their first date was a blind date to chaperone the Valentine's Day dance at my mother's school.

This is really quite beautiful. And how romantic to meet your "One" on Valentine's Day! &hearts Congrats to your parents!!

More wine, I say!!

Thanks, sweetheart!

My father has always had a fondness for red velour ever since. It's not very popular in the fashion world (for good reason, in my opinion), but that just makes it unique! And 70s.
