Spending money

I made a phone call today. It lasted less than two minutes and my bank account was £4,500 lighter at the end of it. Which made me begin to wonder, what is the fastest way to spend money? It's not a house as that involves filling in forms (which takes lots of time), and it's not a car as that also involves filling in forms (the V5 and also ( Read more... )

Nah - inheritance tax is pretty much optional. There are so many ways of avoiding it, that surely nobody pays it nowadays.

You can buy gems and precious metals extremely quickly, but those feel like cheating since you could almost as easily convert them back into cash.

Donations to charity? I expect most of them would move very quickly indeed if you phoned and asked them to take ten million quid off your Visa card. (-8
