calling for cease-fire

In the U.S. Congress, Rep. Kucinich has introduced a concurrent resolution (H. Con. Res. 450) calling for immediate cease-fire in Israel/Lebanon/Gaza, and for U.S. commitment to "multi-party negotiations with no preconditions." Kucinich is a good man. Nice to see our Grijalva on board too.

Interesting that JVP's account doesn't mention what Chomsky makes much of--Israeli gov't abduction of two Gaza civilians the day before the capture of an Israeli soldier.

Kucinich is a good man, though I'm disappointed that he only voted "present" (abstention) and not "no" on the previous resolution, which was basically "Hezbollah sucks, go Israel." And Grijalva voted "yes" on that one. Grijalva's a bit of a waffler on this issue, but I'm still glad he's supporting this resolution.

Yeah, I saw that Chomsky interview (I linked to it a few days ago in one of my posts), and that's the only place I've seen mention of the abducted Gaza civilians. Not sure what to make of that. It's not uncommon for such things to go unreported, but it seems strange that I haven't seen it anywhere else.

By the way, I love JVP. They help keep me sane!
