Re: Bush hats... It struck me, as I read one friend's comments on the recent elections in Russia, that most countries seem to go through their choice of horrid leader.

...actually, it's worse than that. Every time I feel a bit optimistic about life, I'm reminded that we live in a world where people like Putin, Assad, Berlusconi, Zuma (the Shouth African president), and George W Bush could actually rise to the highest leadership position in their respective countries. I don't know what says about human nature.

Thank god for Angela Merkel. Please lady, don't screw it up.

With the endless Russian winter and an even more endless translation of mine, all I've found so far, Paul, is that the world might well be no more that a text - or, sad as it is, THE text. Given the option between a simultaneous descending auction and a clock proxy one, I can't but regretfully decline both :) Hope spring has set in where you are though, hasn't it?

Maybe your fancy will turn to writing a romance/romcom about lovers, the tango, and a long Russian winter. That's a novel I'd like to read. ;)
