Bus passes? Do your schools use the regular bus system or something?

The older kids do. School buses are only used for kids in the younger grades. Especially for schools like Ben's and Rachel's, that draw kids from all over the city rather than being neighborhood schools, there are too many different areas that the students are coming from; it's fastest for them to just use the passes to take public buses. School buses traveling all over to move the kids around would take a ridiculous amount of time and require the kids at the beginnings of the routes to be up insanely early. (I know because they used to do this when I was a kid and some kids who came to our school from a distance had to be at their bus stops at 6:30 am to catch a school bus that would get them to school by 8:30 am; commuting by public bus cut that travel time in half.)
