#12 Avery's Thanksgiving dress

It's been quite a while since I sewed something for Avery. This is mostly because between her sister's hand me downs, impulse purchases, and gifts, the kid has at least 2 kids worth of clothes. Love your outfit!!! I have this pattern and was reading the directions.I have a question and I hope you will take the time to answer me. Is the zipper really necessary?? It looks like it would just pull over.

Depends on the size of your child. It would have been a little snug to pull on my daughter, but it definitely would have been fine if I made it just a smidge bigger. She is 3 and growing out of her size 3 store bought clothes, and I made this in size 3.

My putting the invisible zipper instead of a real one was probably a mistake. The zipper broke on Thanksgiving day! I don't know if the invisible zipper wasn't sturdy enough or if I broke it during install or what. It was fine when she tried it on the night I photographed it here, but I wound up having to safety pin her dress closed on Thanksgiving because the zipper teeth kept popping open :(
