I hope you're doing this because you actually want it, not just to spite your parents. as much as it may seem otherwise sometimes, I'm sure they love you, and making a relatively permanent change that you'll have to live with doesn't seem like the best thing to do in that situation.

every practicing jew I know has said that jews shouldn't get tattoos because we borrow our bodies from God, and shouldn't return them to him defaced like that. I don't know if you believe that, but I would think that most or all judeo-christian religions would have a similar stance.

please don't interpret this as me trying to hold you back. I just hope that you're certain that this is what you want and you know what you're doing before you go through with such a major decision. good luck with everything.

this is something that i want to do and it is not merely to spite my parents. if it was i would have done already, but the fact of the matter is that i'm getting the tattoo because it symbolizes me and what i think. i do realize that this will be on my body forever and ever. the tattoo has a specific meaning to me and it's not something that i have taken lightly. i have deeply considered it and i have made my decision.

i understand that a tattoo may offend my religion, but i don't care what the church says. i was taught that god would love me no matter the consequence and that is how i view religion. if god was truly angry with me and not some loving third party, then he/she would strike me down as he had in the old testament. (there is a huge difference in the god of the old testament and the god of the new testament.)
