What did everyone think of 5x03? I, unfortunately, was less than impressed. I might even go as far to say that I think the show is losing its touch, but since Niall Leonard wrote next week's I'm sure I will have to go back on my word. His episodes are always excellent. Maybe it has something to do with losing those 15 or so minutes that get cut for

Hee, good enough! But personally, ::dodges tomatoes:: I actually think Tony is a bit off this season, and I am not sure whether or not to attribute that to the acting or the writing. Or maybe I'm just too critical. Though I think I would probably watch Robson read a phone book, too.

i agree about tony. however, I always likened this to him not being able to bounce off carol. (no pun intended)
I love how carol interacted with tony.

Oh, I agree that a lot of it has to do with Carol, or the lack thereof. I'm afraid I'm a broken record in that regard.

I have actually only seen him in WitB and Touching Evil. Oh, and around five minutes of Christmas Lights. Clearly I need to shape up.

I thought it was all right but I wouldn't say it was an all time favourite. I am enjoying series 5 so far. Hell I'd say anything positive as I'm not having to wait for it to show up on BBC America cut to shreds. ;-)

I really liked 5x02, but 5x01 and 5x03 left me cold. And I'm Canadian, so we shall not speak of how I obtain the episodes. ::g:: My biggest complaint is that there is material being cut out already, so that might have something to do with why I didn't enjoy the other episodes so much.

Due to a very temperamental internet, I cant download the eps and will have to wait till they air here in Australia in September... but reading through the comments here, i'm all worried now! The series itself being less than brilliant (although it makes me sad), I can deal with. But Tony 'being a little off?' *cries*

What do you guys mean by that? Do you mean plot-wise, like he's not as brilliant a profiler as he was before? Or just little subtle character things which make him seem different? :(

Hmm. It's not plot-wise, really; there is some undecidedness in 5x01 but that's moreso due to the time constraint of the episode, I think. I think, ultimately, for me Tony seems off because he's no longer opposite Carol. His interaction with Alex seems almost lighter to me somehow, and I find it odd. You might not find anything wrong with him once you watch the episodes, though!
