...Good thing you didn't come across Moby Dick, then.

So what, you're changing it? Or that your real name?

He's ttly ignoring the Moby Dick comment bloody_pens November 5 2010, 18:06:15 UTC
It's my real name. The book had a picture of my handsome face on the back.

Dad? That's your real name?

Yup. Found a book with my picture on it, and that's the author's name.

That's so cool. So what was the book about?

Don't know, actually. I- can't read anything aside from my name. Not even the book's title. It's all blurry to me.

Don't we essentially have your autograph already, now that you've written it on the page?

But Richard, hm? Feels kind of formal compared to Derrick. What would you say to a nickname, maybe Rick or Dick?

CURSES! Foiled again!

...

Rick is fine. Or just Castle. Maybe a fancy shortening of the two. Ricastle?

live_ringer November 5 2010, 18:39:57 UTC
I'd say I'm sorry, but someone has to keep you on your toes.

Ricastle sounds darned strange. [You can't see it, but he's making a face at being censored just now.] I may stick with Rick, since it's not far off from your old name.

Of course. Can't let my ego get TOO huge, after all.

... you know, you're right! Derrick is just Rick with d-e-r added on! How did I not notice that sooner?

Castle's a pretty good name. I like it.

And I'll need to remember "cheese-for-brains."

Me, too. A good, strong name.

It's a nice mean-but-not-too-mean insult.

feathered_earth November 5 2010, 19:30:12 UTC
I think so too.

It's very colorful! I think it would be useful whether or not it's what you wanted to write.

I did intend to write something meaner, yes. But alas, we will have to make do with cheese-for-brains for now.

Oh, I dunno, I don't find my name to be boring at all.

Richard? Christopher? Come on these are like the most white bread all American names ever! This is why I go by a handle.

Castle is kinda cool though. Go by that!

I rather like having a boring name. There are worse things in life than white bread, after all.

Castle fits me.
