Character Profile: Malcolm Merlyn (Season 2)

I had a really hard time assessing Malcolm's thoughts and motivations for Season 2. Well, I guess that's really the same as Season 1, where he remains enigmatic at best. In Season 1, I postulated that Malcolm's core goal was to gain his deceased wife's forgiveness. With the demi-failure of the Undertaking, has he had to give up on that? And if

I'm catching up with this and hope to get 1st Season Arrow this weekend but I'd like to know JB's thoughts on Malcolm's motivations. I thought JB played Patrick Logan as a frightening fellow, Malcolm is some piece of work and even more dangerous because of his skills.

oh, i saw an interview with him on you tube (after i wrote this). of course, i didn't save the link. but he said that malcolm admired moira because she was such a strong woman, and like the only one who was a match for him in strength and smarts. which made me think perhaps i'm not far off the mark. ;)

and wot? i thought patrick logan was a nice guy! well... i liked him. actually, when angie said patrick's favorite saying was 'sometimes you tie yourself to the tree, sometimes you go after the guy with a chainsaw,' i was totally in love. ;D

LMAO! Ok, I did think Patrick started out pretty nice -- for a sociopath!

I did see a few YouTubes with JB but I have Facebook links with him and Stephen. Malcolm isn't the kind of guy who gets locked up; somebody would wind up dead in prison with him. But I'm looking forward to 3rd season (Still have to get the first two on DVD).
