Sure. Isn't that what reincarnation is? On the other hand if they're really the same person but just lost their memories, does it make a difference? Memories are the important thing, they're what define people, right?

It gets trickier when people have the same memories up to a certain point, but then... they split off and go in completely different directions. One person remembers one world, another remembers... a completely separate reality.
