I wonder if there is a time limit to how long we'll stay here. Rather than wanting to go home, I'm finding myself more afraid that I will. If this place is fixed, I'll forget everything, at best, at worst I'll come back d- ... with nothing ( Read more... )

What makes you think that?

If I did, I'm sorry.

You can be sorry all you want, but what you do next is the important part.

Is this your way of kicking me back onto my feet?

Failing. Getting hurt. Abandonment.

All right, let's break this down.

Failing. Too broad. If you're afraid of failing in general then I don't need to tell you failing happens. It's a part of life and learning.

Getting hurt. Also too broad because again, you will get hurt, it will suck and screw up your day, but you deal, get up, and move on because it only stings more when you dwell on it.

Abandonment, better in that it's narrowed down. This situation is unique, but people come and go in life and no one is alone unless they want to be.

Take the time you need to heal, but life goes on with or without you and if you stay back for too long, you might miss out on a lot and that would be a shame.

I don't think the problem is so much that this has happened... so much that it's been happening like clockwork, one after another, for the past year since I've been here.

And others have been here for a year as well and seen the same thing happen. Others have been here for much long than a year. And this is going to keep on happening whether you like it or not or until someone figures out some answers.

What are you going to do about it? You can sit and cry and do this every single time someone close to you leaves, or you can do your grieving then live on.

A handful, yes, but very few still remember everything, or have someone like this.

It's not just that we were close. It's what this means. It's a much larger picture than the one you know.

Then tell me what I know.

It's not something I can explain to someone outside the situation. It's difficult enough without you becoming involved.
