UW? I know quite a bit about it, since I live in Minnesota. I know a lot of people going there next year. I'm not sure why you'd want to go to Wisconsin for any reason, but whatever. ;D Um, it is sort of hard to get into, but it you have pretty good grades (a lot of As or A-s are helpful, Bs get a bit sketchy) and good test scores (i think a 28 or 29 was the average score for freshmen) and have other things on your app you'll be okay. Some people who seemed overqualified didn't get in though, so dont feel bad if you dont get it. But then people who you wouldn't have thought would get in got in as well. so even though its hard to get in, its quite possible

I know it's easier to say this than for you to go through with it, but if your mom hits you again, tell the therapist. It might (probably?) cause some pain and hurt at home, but you'll have someone with the ability to protect you come in and be on your side.

Annnnnd, college. God knows I hate this subject, too. If it's Japanese you're wanting, check out Michigan. MSU has a killer Japanese program that goes up through Masters, and I think PhD (though I'm not sure on the PhD). One of my friends is in the Japanese program and vouches for it's awesomeness, though I found out about it while I was still in high school. Calvin (in Grand Rapids), where I desperately want to go, has one of the top 5 Japanese programs in the nation, but it's a private college so it costs a bit more than a public one. A lot of other colleges there also have good programs. I know a college (I think Carnegie Mellon, though I'm realy not sure, my memory is hazy) in Pittsburgh's got a Japanese program that looked decent. This site is a good one since you

First off honey, you're not fat. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder and no matter who tells you what, you're going to believe what you're going to believe. I just ask that you listen to the positive and give it some consideration. I personally think you're a very beautiful girl. So take that for what it's worth, and next time you get down on yourself just try and remember that at least one person in the world thinks you're lovely
