30: Fly away butterfly

Jan 26, 2009 01:02

It seems that damaging the butterflies forces them to return to whatever form they originally held.

I don't suppose anyone has lost a grand piano?

soma, event, damn mansion, idiots, butterflies, inconvenienced

I have my claymore but I'm not about to summon it now, it'll only fly off.

Right now, I have a grand piano with teeth marks in the leg sitting in my room. It came in through the door as a butterfly, but it won't fit back out as a piano.

If no one claims it, I'll break it up. After the event is over.

So you just hit them?

That can work. You have to be careful, however, they turn back into whatever they originally were while in midair.

I guess I won't be hitting anything big then.

That would not be wise, no.

So then that butterfly I staked to the floor will turn back into a table. Good! I was starting to think it was distressing Liet.

... I won't ask why you did that.

I thought it would be obvious. It knocked him over, and it left him. I just brought it back home and made sure it wouldn't foolishly run away again.

That is not an explanation.

Wait, what? We have to hurt the butterflies if we want our stuff back?!

That would be the logical conclusion if you consider damaging something usually inanimate to be hurting it.

But they're still thinking, they can still feel! Sorta. I'm not gonna kill something I can have a conversation with!

No one is forcing you to.
