[Light filters in through the dusty windows of the church, showing Aureln's face. The black and blue bruising down her cheekbones has largely faded to yellow and pink - she doesn't seem to notice them. Her helm is held in her lap, newly polished. There's a haughty upturn to her chin, a cool curl to her lip, as she looks at the camera ( Read more... )

maternal she is not. not really., myhrta, savage - beastly - the honorable horde, father!aureln, always frowny

[Disgusted mage is still disgusted, so his voice might be a little terse.]

Do you require anything?

[Hearing that edge to his voice, she frowns.]

No thank you.

Very well then. I have a few healing potions left from the last batch for both of you if needed.

[So there. I am very disappointed in you both.]

[Taernoth's face appears, somehow managing to both frown and sneer. ]

Joo ain' our leader, Blood Elf, joo can' jus' order me to...

[He breaks into a grin and supresses a laugh, all faux-malice gone]

Ya, ah saw dis forge earlier. Been a while since ah've worked wit' iron, but if we have enough ore ah can make weapons or armour. Dose links too. Joo make dose t'ings out of da slag or somet'ing, Belfadin? Maybes ah'll show joo how ta forge proper one of dese days, ya?

[He cocks his head, considering for a second before he resumes his smile]

Now den, who be dis Viola?

[She says nothing to that first part, just tuts under her breath.]

You have not the delicacy for such work, Troll, and we have enough for the time being. Regarding our metals, we have other kinds, too - nothing better than mithril, though, and that's rare. Iron would best be used in edging things. Steel hardly seems as effective, for some reason...

[She raises an eyebrow.]

Viola is a young woman who took up a blacksmithing apprenticeship. Perhaps you might be able to help her hone such skills.

Dere be many skills ah can help her hone, if she be willin' ta learn.

[Taernoth groans as the new information sinks in]

Ah'd been hopin' dat the iron t'ing was jus' an exaggeration, mon. What ore be da most abundant round 'ere?

[Her eyes narrow suspiciously. Was that innuendo, Taernoth.]

Tin, for the most part. If you come to the forge you'll see what we have.

[It would probably be best, in the long run, not to actually speak to any Horde if she could help it. But Myhrta's pride is too strong, and she cannot abide the thought of the Sin'dorei thinking her a coward by holding her tongue.]

How benevolent of them.

[The edge of bitterness in her is too strong at present. She finds it too difficult to speak without that withering edge, like a plant releasing toxins upon damage.]

[She scowls at that, part of her wanting to snap. But she does not.]

Perhaps you'll stop lying so low, then.

[Her face contorts. She clenches her teeth to make sure she doesn't actually spit put the profanity she thinks. Damn Sin'dorei! If the tables were turned and she'd been the one outnumbered, it would be so right, so damn honourable of her to keep to herself and not incite any more trouble than simply being caused -!

It takes her a moment to trust herself to speak.]

Indeed.

If they act out of turn - tell me.

[An eyebrow raises, her expression Thoroughly Unimpressed.

But he's not Alliance scum, or snippy friends, or someone who recently tried to kill her, so she's almost thankful.

Almost.]

What do you want, Alchemist?

[He beams at her.]

I need to talk to both you and your new blacksmith at some point. I've got some footery plans and designs here, and I'd appreciate your input.

[And I am going to pester you until you give it, madam, so you might as well cut your losses and accept it now.]

[ A blacksmith! Good news! (Amidst what Zelda suspects has been a sea of bad news.) ]

Thank you for the notification, Aureln. I hope to have an opportunity to speak with this individual soon.

[ As an after thought, she starts a filter. ]

[ AURELN ;; 95% ]

Am I right to presume that your injuries are from the fight I heard about? [ She's not here to judge, honestly. She just wants to know the situation. ]

[She tsks. The exasperation in her voice might be a little fond.]

You'll regret thinking so when you meet him, I'm sure.

[And then she stiffens somewhat, glancing away for a moment before raising her head. Proud.]

They are mostly healed.

[ That's a tone rarely heard. Zelda's ears all but visibly perk up. ]

Is that so?

[ PRIVATE ;; 95% ]

Will you permit my intrusion into this matter? [ Because it's very obviously none of her business, but Zelda cares all the same. ]

He isn't the brightest.

[ PRIVATE ;; 95% ]

[There's a pause, and then a ragged sigh. She sounds tired, more than anything else.]

I bid the Darkspear to uphold our truce with Myhrta, not to harm or provoke her. Taernoth was not very open minded about it, and we argued. He dishonoured me, and I challenged him.
