Disclaimer: I own nothing but the plot. I bend to Joss Whedon's will and try my best not to murder his characters. Also, I don't own James Marsters no matter how much I'd like to.
Warnings/Squicks: None in this chapter except it's an RL AU (real person alternate universe).
Summary: Xander is a huge fan of James Marsters.
Notes: This is the first fic in a series of fics that
kimalis and I are doing. I started it out by doing this one, then it snowballed.
James signed another autograph as the girl in front of him chatted about how hot it was for him to kiss another guy. He wondered how many times he'd have to tell them he was straight and kissing John was just acting even though it had been a long time fantasy of his girlfriend. He shook the girl's hand as she walked off with her signed copy of the famous kiss in her hands. The next pair that walked up almost made him groan. The bleached blond hair was enough, but the black duster despite the ninety degree weather, it was too much. The boy next to him was wearing a bright Hawaiian shirt and short black hair. Spike and Xander cos-players, it just wasn't that cute anymore.
"You," the guy dressed as Spike said pointedly.
"You promised you wouldn't make a scene," the guy dressed as Xander hissed. He held out his hand for James. "I'm Xander and this is Spike. I'm a fan. I liked you in Torchwood, I watch it on BBC America all the time."
A growl issued from "Spike" and "Xander" glared at him. Like he didn't have enough crazy fans to deal with, he had to deal with people who actually thought they were characters from Buffy. He decided to just play along and hope they would go away.
"Right on," James said. "So, what am I signing?" He looked at the handler sitting next to him, who shrugged. It looked like they didn't give her anything.
"Oh! I forgot! This is my first time coming to one of these things so, I didn't know I was suppose to give it to her." He pulled out the kissing picture from a folder he had been clinging too. "This is what I wanted signed." He handed it to the handler who handed it to James. "I heard you were coming and we were in the neighborhood, so we just thought..."
"You just thought. I bloody Hell didn't want to go, but you dragged me here to meet your stupid idol all because of some bloody kiss on BBC America, which doesn't have any of the really good shows. Not to mention they canceled..."
"You promised not to make a scene!"
"I will bloody make a scene if I bloody want to make a scene." He pressed a finger into James' chest. "You got me all wrong. What the Hell? I ain't some loser pining over the Slayer. And that Sarah Michelle Geller bitch is too skinny to be Buffy. Have you ever seen Buffy? None of that is what really happened."
James put up his hands defensively, "Hey, take it up with the writers. I have nothing to do with it. I just play it how I'm told to like a good little actor."
He growled, "And if you think for a second I'd ever team up with that ponce Angel, you have another thing coming."
The Xander cos-player put his arms around "Spike"'s waist. He hugged him close and the Spike cos-player seemed to calm down. He backed off and let James sign the autograph for his boyfriend. He shook "Xander"'s hand and they stalked off. James let out a sigh of relief as the next girl in line came up to greet him.
"I don't know why you like him," Spike said while dropping into the sewers.
Xander followed him down and casually swayed his hips beside him. He walked forward while ignoring Spike behind him. Spike changed into his game face and slammed Xander against the wall. Xander changed into his and growled.
"Fuck you, I wanted to turn him, but you had to make him all suspicious."
"Why would you want to turn him? You have the better, younger model right here."
"You're just jealous because I think he's sexy and I want a Spike sandwich."
Spike growled, but Xander pouted. Xander always got him when he pouted. He sighed and let his face shift back to his human features.
"Fine, but I'm siring him."
Xander smiled, "Whatever you're more comfortable with."
