Fanmix for challenge 7

I started this for caseland  and I really think I'm enjoying this more than I have any other challenge thus far. I have always wanted to do a fanmix... this was just the kick in the butt I needed. ETA: Just caught the spoiler ruling. This is a Gibbs/Shannon fanmix.

Fanmix under the cut. Gibbs/? )

Ooh! Not an easy ship to fanmix and that comes out nicely!

Love both front and back covers but back really captures the eyes-shiny<-- don't know why, but it's mesmerizing like that. ;)

Yeah, I was kind of stumped at first as to how I was going to design the covers. Then I watched Rule 51, and went, "Bingo, throw in some Dashboard Confessional and letters with song titles as addresses." I originally wanted to title the mix after the final song, but couldn't come up with a cohesive theme for the jacket. Once I decided to add "living in Your Letters" the whole thing pretty much fell together.

Love your icon!

You got terrific Gibbs icon, BTW. :)

It's always like that with fanmixes. You wonder what songs are gonna fit and, at a certain point, they all seem to come naturally to you.

Oh, what can I say... I love Gibbs. The kicking ass one was one I made for the very first NCIS 20 in 20 forever ago. I always try to find good Gibbs icons. I had Vamp926 make me this great one after winning the caption contest.

Yeah. This is the first one I've completed... but there were others I had worked on and set aside. This one had actually been thought of several months ago and it just never made it. I kind of approached it like I was writing a story, and once I figured that part out, and ran across a cache of Dashboard Confessional on the computer, I just knew. I think it's almost more liberating to tell the story with someone else's words because it's more of a challenge.
