20 Butterflies

I am pleased that Merry is back, though I wish she could have returned at a better time.

There where dead all over the streets when I looked out the windows this morning. I also saw the occasional rat scurry around the Opera House.

I am staying inside and locking my door. This is no time to be outside with the dead and vermin.

merry, dead people, not-affected, locked in room

Yes, I'd have rather she returned another day as well, but she's with me and she doesn't seem to be ill, so it's all right--relatively speaking.

If you're worried about catching the contagion, you might consider wrapping a scarf about your head. It helps with the smell as well.

I am relieved that she and you have escaped the terrors of this day. I assume that you are not ill? How is Mr. Riff?

A scarf is an idea that I had not thought of. I will try it, thank you Cain.

The smell is quite over whelming. I tried to take a steep outside of the Opera Abandoned for a walk, but was chases back inside by the odder.

No, I've avoided the illness thusfar--and so has Riff, fortunately.

There are some who've told me dousing the scarf in vinegar will ward off the disease as well. I've no idea if it works, but it's another way to kill the smell so long as you don't object to the smell of vinegar instead.

It's a horrific scene outside. It's just as well you fled back inside.

I am pleased to hear that; Riff seems to be very important to you.

Vinegar? I have no like for the substance. I will take my chances with the scarf all the same. It could not hurt to try something new.

Horrific indeed. Did you also try to take a step outside?
