Sitting with his back to one of the structures around the roof, Simmons peered over the hand in front of him, trying to keep his face straight. Not good odds, he thought. Definitely not good odds. Still, it wasn't like he'd been doing badly so far. Helmet gone, one glove gone - it helped having a head for numbers sometimes. "Here," he said, throwing a card down. Just a six.
Lizzy fixed it with a sharp blue gaze for a moment, before she glanced at her cards again, scooped it up and dropped a queen in its place. One more card and she could call "Trinity" and win the round...
Dammit. Wrong suit, wrong suit. If it'd only been spades, he could've done something, but...! Ugh. King of diamonds, instead. The poker-face slipped as he threw the card down, already preparing to surrender.
Lizzy looked at the card, then opted to pull from the draw pile instead. She smirked in triumph, arranged her cards, then laid them down slowly for him to view. Three sixes and a run of 10-9-8 in clubs.
From behind the rock structure, the brown-armored freelancer inspected the Red base before him. There was no current signs of activity, but he knew for a fact there would be people inside. Most likely some of his former special forces peers, too, but he'd leave that for another day.
Turning around he studied the Blue base from a distance before beginning his run closer, heading for the cover a group of boulders would offer.
I am detecting two soldiers on the roof of the upcoming base, York, Delta announced to him, projecting his hologram as he spoke to his host. This one is guarded, although not well, as the two appear to be unmoving and in almost the same place.
"Can you guess anything else from this distance?"
No, I will need to get in closer in order to discern more information.
"All right. We'll-" He ducked behind a boulder as he saw someone on to roof move as if looking into the valley, and stood still, breathing softly as if they could hear him.

A few more cards played. Whatever it had must've just been the wind, Simmons thought. ...Though it'd never been too breezy around the Gulch. "Your go."
He had just stepped out for a smoke when he saw the crouched figure. Too well-hidden to be Morelli, too careful for any Red really. Then he noticed the white flashes and pulled on his helmet, carefully so that he could still smoke in his helmet.
Wyoming approched slow and silent despite his half-ton bulk in a crouch behind the boulder to York's left. Wyoming was the bounty hunter, sneaking was his specialty. When he was withen arm's reach of the brown freelancer he whispered, "So, what are we hiding from?"
((Grr... forgot they take HTML here. Editting post, sorry.))
So much for the sneaking approach.
Slowly, so as not to alarm whoever found him, York straightened up, clearing his throat. His body hopefully concealed his hand's careful movement towards a gun, but if this was who he thought it was, he was in big trouble either way.
"I'm... sorry to have... disturbed you..." He murmured. York really was bad at lying, and the way he kept his voice soft and paused between a lot of his words showed he was distracted even as he was lying. "I was... hm... just trying not to... uh, draw attention to my.. presence. Didn't want to... bother anyone..."
He kept his head tilted down in the same position it had been in when he stood, but his eyes were at the corners in an attempt to catch a glimpse of his stealthy attacker.
(*Nods* It'll be taking place at Blue base, mostly, I'm assuming, once York makes his way over there. So yes, open, so long as York isn't gonna get the crap beaten out of him for sneaking into base... ^^; Wyoming is "Blue", yes?)
