The Ruins of Our World...

Arrival in Blood Gulch in 5.. 4... 3-

Lizzy stepped from the cave into the bright sunlight, then stepped back into shadows to keep from being noticed; her light armor would reflect sunlight so badly that she'd probably call the attention of every idiot in the canyon to her.

Your timing is off, Sil.

Our intel was clearly incorrect. This was not a ( Read more... )

Unfortunately for Massachusetts, her target wasn't wearing anything that had identified him in the file. However, his armor did lay piled at the foot of his bed, which he just happened to be laying on himself. He wasn't sleeping, his head hurt far too much for that, but he wasn't all that conscious either. Head injuries tended to have that effect.

Detecting lifesigns...

Give me directions, Sil.

Epsilon began to rattle off instructions and Lizzy followed them to a T, keeping sharp eyes watching for anyone who might attempt to hinder her progress. Luckily, she met with no resistance before reaching the door Silly had mentioned.

The slid apart for her and she stepped into the room, blue eyes taking quick stock of the objects there before she allowed herself to move cautiously closer to her target and get a look at his face.

Spike groaned. "Sanger," he whined, assuming it was the other freelancer, mostly because he was the only one who ever entered his room anyway. "G'way. My head hurts. Don' wanna have sex."

Behind her visor, Lizzy blinked, her mind washing temporarily blank. Sanger? Sex? What?

There was a Sanger in the 49 program, Sil piped up, tilting her mental head at the boy in the bed. Wyoming.

I think I remember Tex mentioning him once. Never knew him. I wonder what the program would think of this development. Then again, this may have nothing to do with Wyoming. Staying invisible, Lizzy approached the bed and took a good look at the man there, glancing only briefly at the armor. I believe this may be our target.

Affirmative. Composing an image of him in the armor at the bottom of his bed, he does fit the profile.

Not much older than me, Lizzy thought to herself. He seemed familiar- perhaps she's seen him once or twice before- but she didn't think she knew him well. Then again, many of the 49 weren't much older or younger than her. And then there had been hardened soldiers like Wyoming.

I wish I didn't have to do this to you. I'm sorry.

Elizabeth?Lizzy said nothing. She did have a choice, but what it came down to was did she ( ... )

((Okay, the hostility is starting to seem really out of character, and I object to it. I was going to be fine with our characters being all right with each other, but since CT seems a little... stressed at the moment...

Edit: Wanted this as a new post, so it isn't all squished to the side.))

"So what, I babysit him?" Lizzy called after Wyoming, then sighed in disgust when she realized he was gone. She shot Spike a poisonous glare- reduced by the fact that he couldn't see it- and took her leave; the hell if she was staying with someone as obnoxious as him. Maybe she should kill him and take the risk.

No. Even if he isn't being nice to you, doesn't give you a right to kill him. Especially since he has a life here, if you can call anything in this canyon a "life". She shook her head and paused at the threshhold to the outdoors. Turning on her cloak, she stepped into the sunlight and jogged towards the other side of the canyon.

Good. I didn't like that Cypher. Not at all.

I'm not liking things here very much either, Silly, but we'll ( ... )

((Hopefully I'm not going to sound rude when I say this, but wouldn't you be stressed if two people barged into your room and started arguing while you had a whooping headache? Plus, it's a little known fact that before Cypher came into the picture, Spike was actually fairly agressive. Now that he's gone, I'm hoping he'll start acting more the way I originally planned him instead of being emo all the time.))

((No, you didn't sound rude. Thank you for the explanation; I suppose I was just expecting CT to be the way he was when he had Cypher- Cypher's the "evil" part, and CT the good- and not so "tsk tsk language, boy!" ^^; Lizzy's actually acting OOC at the moment too... she's normally nicer. I guess it's the botched mission or summat. Anywho, thankee for the explanation and- I think I missed an end tag somewhere. *Purses lips* Crud. Oh well.))

((Yeah, Spike's a bitch. So yeah, Cypher and Spike are both not very... well behaved. Cypher's generally nicer, Spike's anti-social. He was, if you hadn't gotten it from the previous post, abused as a kid, and it's left him a tad bit bitter. Cypher's done more than control him phsyically, you see.))
