He stopped and stared, blinking under his visor at the unfamiliar figure lying on the grass. It was one thing hearing about being replaced - another to see it.
He just about restrained himself from opening fire there and then. The newcomer didn't have any armour on, after all. Instead, he moved closer, tightening his grip on his gun.

With a "What the hell," he stood up and made his way towards the base. He paused just out side the door, however, and turned his head towards the cliffs. He thought he saw a flash of blue out of the corner of his eye...

Watching the rookie's movements, he shook his head and decided to see what was happening. He couldn't help but be curious about who this was who'd filled his place in the squad. Quietly as he could manage, he followed, sticking to the shade where he could.
Not a lot else he could really do, he felt.

Leaves decided he didn't like this guy at all. Sure, he had the air of an older brother, but he was kissing up to his Sarge. And trying to put all the blame on him.
If Sarge did believe him, he would have no qualms about running him over. Many, many times.
