These memories scream through his consciousness, fast and chaotic and frightening. And he’s reminded of those old wooden roller coasters, the ones that used to stand watch over piers and carnivals - sentinels of entertainment and progress, daring him, challenging him, threatening him. He used to love those old coasters, back before they were made of metal and plastic. Back before they lost their charm and their souls. But that won’t happen with this new one, this one that enthralls and excites him, the one made of flesh and heart.
He always was a sucker for that which scared him.
