Lol! I totally lied to my Mum the first time I said I was going to meet like minded fandomites! She would never understand XD

I don't know that Mum understands, but she accepts, which is pretty awesome. When I was organising the Star Trek meet in 2009 I kinda had to tell her what I was up to, and well, Jay is a good rl friend of mine now so - she understands :D

My Mum neither understands or accepts. She doesn't seem to be able to comprehend that I can be this academic person whilst, at the same time, an absolute geek for fandom and tv shows that mean so much to me. I think she never went through it herself so she's never quite got what it means to me.

It's okay though, I've just told her that they are all geeky uni friends, or as the case may now be, geeky NQT friends :D
