Got discharged yesterday at 3pm after proving I could walk up and down the stairs on my crutches as well as hobble around without too much struggling. It only took me two attempts to find a way of getting up and down the stairs that suited me, most people tend to go on their ass but as my knee is free I'm able to crawl and then

Seriously, why is the cast all the way up your leg for the tendons in your foot? Would a calf high cast not do? they had to put it up to your knee? holy cow I understand your complaints now.

There is a brace plate of plaster cast up the back of my leg to keep my entire lower leg and foot rigid. A half cast wouldn't have given a) enough support or b) enough balance for me. It's just bandages across the front but my leg is sort of laying in a scoop and partially across my foot is a connecting plate.
No pain. Just cramping + pins and needles at the moment. Give it two weeks and I'll be ready to tear the whole fucker off.
Next time the vase is going out the window. Fact.
