So.... I went with the Boy and his Paulette (the mother) to his eldest cousin's wedding reception. There I met:
Steve (cousin) and his second wife Sam. His boys David and Tom and her kids Grace and Alex.
Steve's parents Christine (Paulette's sister) and Ken.
Andy (cousin), his wife Lorraine and their boys Jack and Ewan.
Paul (cousin), his wife

Well it was either crawl under the table and hide or make my excuse and run for the alcohol. :D

Hahahahaha. I had a similar things recently when I went to a New Year's do with my Boy and had to meet his extended family. Lucky for him, all I have is 1 brother and my parents.

We let our boys get off too easily. :P

Matt doesn't have his Dad around anymore, died when he was 13 and he doesn't really see that side of the family at all. So he really only has his Mum's side to introduce me to but still it was a little daunting to be thrown in the deep end with ALL the family pretty much.

I think the thing that got me was that Lorraine (who is absolutely amazing but incredibly forward) just told it as it was. She doesn't bother with trying to butter anything up and there she was pointing out I'm the only girlfriend that they've ever met and how it's good to see matt finally have someone he wants to introduce.

Next time I meet them I'll be more relaxed and chatty. Apparently I got the seal of approval from Nan though, told Matt that she liked me and thought that I was 'The right type of girl.'

Oh we do let them get away with far far too much!
