[Be grateful you didn't turn MOE, Shadow. Stranger things have happened. Rach's actually dealing with this fairly well - the morphing bit has helped her cope with over forty new minds and body constructions in the past three years, after all.]

Also, you'll hate this - you can't morph real clothing. Only something pretty tight. I can do some basic stuff like a t-shirt, but since you probably can't, stick with the spandex. You'll know it when you see it. [The gymnastics leotard.] Otherwise you'll change back naked.

Remember that shoes of any kind are out of the question, they just don't work. It runs on your personal energy, and morphing a lot in succession drains you quick. I can do four or five, six at a stretch before falling over; I don't know whether you can or not. And that's both ways, changing and changing back aren't in separate categories. You'll need to fight to control the animal minds at first, and their instincts will still be active below yours - listen to them, especially if you're flying, 'cause you don't know how to fly. Also- oh. Huh...

[There's a pause, and a definite considering look comes on her face.]

You know, you could look like yourself for an hour and forty-five minutes at a time if you wanted to. It'd give me access to your body after that, though.

[ALL good to know. Maybe it's hearing it come from his own voice which makes it easier for him to take her at her word. That and the situation. He looks at her with slight confusion. Wants to set things absolutely straight about this.]

[Maybe it's that she's being very straightforward and no-nonsense about it; that probably helps.]

Morphing is based on DNA, so I can acquire people as well as animals. Anything with a genetic pattern that can be copied. All you have to do to acquire something is touch it with your bare skin and focus on it; it'll go drowsy, which is a sign that the process is working. So, if you wanted to morph yourself for periods of time, you could acquire me - you - and go right ahead. But I'd have your DNA forever after that, and if you fell asleep or something as yourself I will hunt you down.

How can I trust you won't do something with my form later on?

[Has to ask, it's him. Though that he's even considering it is a sign. It's tempting, a temporary way out of the experiment. It's very evasive. He likes evasive.]

You don't. [She's so blunt.] But you're just a human and can't fly or swim well or stomp a car. Only reason I'd want to be you would be to be a guy, and I really don't see that being a problem after this.

[And yet, he prefers blunt. It puts him at ease. That and the thought that he could just track her down and kill her if she made use of his form in some way he didn't want. Besides... maybe there'll come a time he has to make a deal with her and get a duplicate of himself around for a time. Stranger things happen.]
