I'll be back to Austin in the morning. I really wish I could stay with John, but he has AIT and also, South Carolina is not a fun place. It's more than that it's not Texas...I can't put my finger on it though

Thanks, I hope so, but these past 9-10 weeks didn't pass by very fast :o/ I'm still a little more hopeful that this will pass more quickly though -- especially since we'll be able to have a little more communication. Before, we only were able to write letters and he calld about 4 times during the whole 2-2.5 months for about 5 minutes each time. Ok I'm not making sense...it's 2:15 and I've already been awake for 11.25 hours today. Oy!

Nope...got up at 3 am central time to get to the airport and catch a 6:30 am flight to Houston and then Houston to Austin. I got back here around 11:15 this morning, my roommate picked me up and took me by the apartment, I dropped off my luggage and threw some stuff in the wash and came straight to work. Right now I feel like it's 2 am. I'm soooooo tired that I feel woozy. (I did go to bed last night a little before 7 pm central time though.)
by the way, a friend of mine just recently finished her basic training... but somehow managed to broke an ankle, and stress-fractured both of her legs... anyways... sorry...random story for ya.... point being, basic training IS TOUGH... but i am sure you already knew that from all the stories John told ya!
all i know is she is now in Georgia... but that wasn't where basic training is. I got a cool little "hi i am done with my basic training' postcard from her.
Ah she's probably at Fort Benning now... John did his basic at Ft. Jackson (as the post says) and he was in the 2/60th and in D company, so if you talk to her and that sounds familiar, maybe they met!

And yes...very tough. I don't like thinking about a lot of it, but at least I know they're getting really good training.
