Finished season six of Supernatural. A little late, because season seven is on tv now. We'll have to wait for the dvd. So we ended with Castiel becoming God. WTF? He is in wayy over his head! I suspect he isn't going to make it...he's going to die. I think that Castiel's vessel, trench coat man, isn't strong enough to be God and will therefore ( Read more... )

Leo and I only watch Supernatural via DVD. Well, that's how Leo watches all of his t.v. shows - it's not how I like to watch mine. But, I've recently introduced Leo to a bunch of t.v. shows (like Eureka, White Collar, Burn Notice and Castle) that I have a lot to keep me busy while I wait for Supernatural and True Blood to come out. XD

I'm worried about what's going to happen to Castiel. I love his character, and I don't want to see him go. I don't want to think he's "become" god because that seems a little silly to me. Then again, I didn't much care for the sixth season's material, either.

The show is going downhill. I love Castiel too, he's easily one of my favorite fictional characters! I'm worried too.

I actually watched Pride and Prejudice last night so I can see where you're coming from. It comes across way better in the novel but Darcy is an asshole. Or at least he really acts like one. He is shy, but Elizabeth has no way of knowing that. All she knows is that he insulted her at the ball (She is not handsome enough to tempt me) and that she has heard a great many bad things about him (Wickham). Plus she then finds out that he almost ruined Jane's chance at marriage to Bingley. We find out later that he fixed it but in the novel you get to see him and Caroline scheming to get Charles away from Netherfield as fast as possible and away from Jane ( ... )

That's kind of what I figured, but there's this particular scene in the movie. Elizabeth is playing the piano at Lady Katherine's home and she tells Darcy to practice; he just looks so defeated, and I think, woah, bitch move. But I thought that's probably not what I'm supposed to be feeling.

That's so great that you mentioned that part. I was texting a friend during the movie and I said "I think that's the first time anyone has stood up to Darcy and not accepted his explanations or justifications as the god-given truth."

I'll have to go back and rewatch that scene tonight because I didn't see defeat, I saw contemplation.

Also I think it helps if you view the movie thinking more that Lizzy is just having fun the whole time. She told Darcy she'd like to tease him and was said when she couldn't. She saw him as an ass and then modified it slightly to just kind of get under his skin by teasing him. Which I think was what she was doing in that scene. She teases because she thinks he takes himself so seriously that he can't stand people teasing him and she's just trying to get under his skin.

I plan to read the book, I think that will be easier to see Lizzie's side of things.

And I think that maybe it's not even Darcy I'm feeling for, maybe just Matthew McFayden's acting real gets to me.
